Mama Freddie was seen for months on the grounds of the (former) Traverse City State Hospital. Initially assumed to be a young male, Freddie was named by students of Greenspire School who would watch her hunt outside of their classroom. However, once she was trapped, she was found to be a nursing mom! After locating her kittens (Fitz, Finn, Frank, and Fiona), all were trapped, fixed, released and fed by a caretaker for over a year before coming to the sanctuary. Mama warmed up quickly and we believe she had a home at one time before finding herself outside alone, and pregnant. She is such a happy cat, and isn't much older than her babies, she behaves more like their sibling than their mother! Freddie is loving life at the sanctuary and is known to be a bit of a hunter from the safety of her catio! Mama is a confident lady who went from the hard street to a life of safety and love!
